Divorce
A guy a work with said that you can tell where you are in your life after college by what other people are doing in their relationships.
Right out of college it feels like you go to weddings like mad. Then a few years later it seems that everyone starts to have kids. Then, you reach the stage where the spotlight focuses on divorce.
For a long time, I only knew well one divorced couple. I guess they were ahead of their time. It seems like in the past six months, I have had about half a dozen fairly close friends and associates that are divorcing.
There was the guy with the girlfriend half a continent away on the coast. Another that lost everything (and then some) in Las Vegas either at the tables or at the strip clubs. This guy was buying expensive gifts for his stripper, but swears to his wife he never cheated. If he never got lucky giving out diamonds, he is even a bigger chump than I thought before. Another guy is a workaholic that stays at the office until all hours during the week and plays 36 holes of golf on the weekend. There just is not enough time to work like that, play golf and keep a family together.
There is no real point to the post. Just some observations. I will hold my family close and, especially now that we have the passion end working again, make sure that the love does not die.
