Sex Life Still Sucks
I have not written about the status of my sex life recently, quite frankly because there has not been anything to tell. I have lost count now of exactly when my wife I actually made love, though I am pretty sure that it was sometime back in May. So it has been about four months give or take. The saddest part is that I have almost stopped missing it. Our sex life has been so spotty for so long that maybe I have just forgotten exactly how powerful, connective and beautiful is the act of making love to my wife.
She recently brought up the subject of talking to her doctor about her birth control pills. If you go back and look at my post in May where things were fine, she was not on birth control pills. Her mood was better overall, she was sleeping better, and she had a libido. Once she was on the pill all that ended. She has switched pills, but to no avail. She is not breaking out like a teenager on the new pill, but the dilatory affect to her mood and libido remain. I am sure there is some term for this that I should know, but I don’t. She had her period during the middle of cycle this month and now that she is at the end of her “regular” cycle, she is having another period. So not having sex does not bother her, but having two periods in a month is motivating her to see her OB/GYN. I have not even been on her to do it, which might be partly why she is. She said that she wants to have a frank and open discussion with her about ALL the effects of the pill. I sure hope she does, though it might take her three months to actually get an appointment. Is there a shortage of OB/GYNs out there?
I don’t mind wearing a condom. Hell, she still wants a fourth child anyway. Maybe we should just play Russian roulette with condoms and let the fates decide when and if we are supposed to have a fourth. I personally vote for the vasectomy, but she is not ready to take that step.
Maybe I can convince her to go off the pills and just switch to condoms until she is able to get an appointment with the doctor.
