My Birthday
Today is my birthday, so I thought I would use today to reflect on all the good things in my life as I turn 32.
I am happily married to a beautiful woman who, after nearly seven years of marriage, continues to consistently make me smile and laugh.
I have three beautiful boys who daily remind me of what a miraculous and precious gift life is.
I have a challenging and interesting job that nine days out of ten I really enjoy (plus it pays pretty well too!).
My wife and I have a nice house in the suburbs, where the neighbors are nice, crime is rare, and our kids have lots of other kids to play with.
We are facing the enviable choice of placing our kids in private school or sending them to the best public school system in the state.
In the last year, we have paid off all of our debt except for the debt on one of our two cars and on our house.
My health is good, I have lost weight, kicked up my running, and have been eating better. My wife and kids are in good health as are my children’s grandparents.
I have made a concerted effort over the last year to reestablish friendships with my male buddies that had lapsed due to lack of effort.
I am sure there are more, but I think that is a pretty impressive list. Sometimes it is hard to stand back and focus on what is going right in our lives. Why is it that the little “bad” things seem to over-shadow so much that is good?
